Europe's largest barbecue festival opened on Friday in Bucharest. The culinary event continues until Monday and takes place at Romania's largest stadium, National Arena. The festival is not just about food, it's about music. Concerts by leading Romanian artists such as Smiley, Spike and Carla's Dreams are part of the programme.

Still, the event is above all about cuisine. More than 700 chefs from Romania and 10 other countries take part in the event. The festival is divided into themed zones for every meat lover: beef, pork, chicken, turkey, game, fish and seafood, as well as mix zones for burgers and sausages.

Visitors can watch and take part in live barbecue shows, professional and amateur competitions such as the “King of Hot”, meat cutting demonstrations and even “eat as much as you can” challenges.

There will also be sampling of unique dishes from around the world, including specialties like crocodile meat burgers. There are also Bulgarian participants in the festival.
