site.btaEconomy Greenhouse Gas Emissions up 2.2% in EU, 4.02% in Bulgaria in Q4 of 2024


In the last quarter of 2024, the EU economy greenhouse gas emissions were estimated at 897 million tonnes of CO2-equivalents (CO2-eq), a 2.18% increase compared with the same quarter of 2023. In Bulgaria, the increase was by 4.02%, show data on quarterly estimates for greenhouse gas emissions by economic activity, published by Eurostat on Thursday.
The most significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions was recorded in Latvia (+10.8%), Slovenia (+9.4%), and Greece (+8.11%).
In the fourth quarter of 2024, a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions was estimated for only six Member States when compared with the same quarter of 2023. The most significant drops were observed in Estonia (-11.2%), Finland (-6.1%), and Sweden (-2.3%).
