National Audit Office Vice President Toshko Todorov was elected to chair the Commission for Public Oversight of Statutory Auditors for a term of four years after a vote at the National Assembly on Friday. Todorov’s bid for the post was supported by 112 MPs, another 43 voted against, and 14 abstained from voting.
He was nominated for the job by the GERB-UDF parliamentary group. The nomination was presented in the debating chamber of the National Assembly by MP Delyan Dobrev.
Todorov studied at the Academy of Economics in Svishtov. His career began from the position of tax inspector in 1992. Over the years, he served at various levels in the National Revenue Agency, reaching the post of deputy executive director. Since 2015, he has served as Vice President of the National Audit Office, successively heading the directorates for Specific Audits, Financial Audits, and Compliance Audits for Financial Management.
