Bulgarian flower varieties have sunk roots in the largest botanical garden in the Nigerian capital Abuja, which boasts the greatest diversity of plant species in Africa, the Bulgarian Embassy in the West African country says on its Facebook page.

The Sarius Palmetum Botanical Garden received a selection of Bulgarian flower seeds, including a special variety of snowdrops. Ambassador Yanko Yordanov, who delivered the seeds, said that Bulgaria has become the first European country to acquire a separate corner in the garden, a fact with a symbolic meaning in the year of the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Adnan Adeosun, CEO at Sarius Palmetum Botanical Garden and son of Nigeria's former first lady Ajoke Murtala Muhammed, expressed his conviction that the Bulgarian flowers will adapt easily to the conditions in Abuja.
