Denmark-based violin player Veselin Demirev is returning to the Vratsa stage on February 23 after his successful concerts with the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra in recent years. Demirev is concertmaster of the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra in Denmark and is also a regular guest concertmaster of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid. In Vratsa, he will be a soloist in the upcoming concert entitled "Masters of the Violin", which will be conducted by the Mexican conductor Hector Guzman.

"The program is very difficult, this Sibelius concerto is one of the most difficult he wrote, and even though he revised it, he made it even more difficult," Demirev told BTA. He explained that the repertoire was chosen by Guzman, but Guzman had known in advance of the violinist's desire to play a piece by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.

Demirev is playing on a violin made by the great master Joseph Guarneri in 1701. Its previous owner was the concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra in the 1930s, after which no one used it for decades.
