site.btaTurkish Finance Minister: Turkiye's Economy Expected to Grow by 4.5% in 2023
Despite all the global financial problems, Turkish economy is expected to grow by 4.5 % this year, said Turkiye's Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek Thursday.
Simsek promised that the authorities will continue to take measures to tighten monetary policy.
Measures taken on monetary and fiscal policy, combined with reduced political uncertainty after the elections, have started to have a positive impact on the outlook for the Turkish economy, Simsek clarified at a meeting of the Turkish Bankers Association in Istanbul.
"Our policy will be in line with international norms", he said. "We are shaping our monetary, fiscal and credit policies in a way that will ensure we achieve our objectives", he added, saying that his Ministry will continue to simplify and tighten monetary policy.
Simsek stressed that the government's short-term priority is to establish financial stability and enhance predictability.
