site.bta"Days of Puppets" Festival Will Present Productions of 11 Bulgarian, Foreign Theatre Formations in Burgas

The tenth anniversary edition of the International Puppet Festival "Days of Puppets" 2023 will be held from July 30 to August 5 on the open-air stage "Ohlyuva" [Snail] in the Sea Garden of Burgas, the local State Puppet Theatre said Friday.

The Festival will open on July 30 with the production "The Wizard of Oz" by the school at the local State Puppet Theatre, as well as "The Golden Goose", also by the theatre in the seaside town, which is also the organizer of the forum with the support of the Burgas Municipality.

The 2023 programme will present a total of 19 performances by eight Bulgarian and three foreign theatre groups from the Netherlands, Romania and Kazakhstan.

Representatives of the puppet theatres of Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, Vidin, as well as the Youth Theatre "Nikolay Binev", the Theatre Formation "Senju" and the Theatre "Male - Male" from Sofia will also participate.

After the opening, every day until August 5, three performances will be presented on stage with start times at 18:30, 19:30 and 20:30, respectively. Along with these, the organizers have prepared an accompanying programme, which includes a presentation of the "Museum of Fairy Tale", as well as a workshop on working with puppets for professionals. Between the performances, the audience will be able to take part in various dances and games.
