The Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Republic of North Macedonia, Angel Angelov, the Consul General of this country in Bitola, Nikolay Dimitrov, representatives of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Bitola and the Bulgarian community in the Republic of North Macedonia honoured the third anniversary of the death of Spaska Mitreva.

Spaska Mitreva's case, which began as a domestic dispute over the custody of her daughter, required diplomatic efforts because of Mitreva's declared Bulgarian origin. Born in Gevgelija (Republic of North Macedonia), Spaska died in 2020 from cancer.
