Bulgaria plans to reopen its Consulate General in Odessa at the end of April, Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov told a news briefing in Sofia Thursday. "Ukraine is by no means out of our sight in terms of our diplomatic representation," he added.
Milkov noted that the reopening of the consulate is also important for the Bulgarian community in the city. The government has not yet picked an ambassador for Ukraine and the choice will be left for the next government, he explained.
The Bulgarian Consulate General in Odessa was evacuated on February 28, 2022 after the Russian invasion in Ukraine reached the city and endangered the safety of the Bulgarian diplomats.
