A charity exhibition "Ukraine Forever" opened at Sofia's Espace PORT A gallery on Thursday.
The aim of the exhibition is to send financial aid to Ukraine, and the occasion - the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the war.
The idea for the charity exhibition in aid of Ukraine came from painter Ivan Hadjiiski. "We artists, despite the individual nature of our work, are united and have a clear attitude to the so-called "special operation" by some, and by us - a war for the destruction of a people," he said, adding that over 50 artists had joined the initiative, which necessitated the creation of an online gallery.
Among the artists whose works are featured in the exhibition are Lyuben Zidarov, Stefan Bozhkov, Dimitar Yaranov, Bojidar Bonchev, and many others.
"The artist's mind, the artist's thinking, art is the greatest refuge where you can save yourself from everything," said director of BTA's LIK Magazine Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov at the opening of the exhibition.
The works will be on display in the gallery until March 19. From March 20 to April 30, they can be viewed and purchased online at the Elephant Bookstore website.
The campaign is supported by the Ukraine Support & Renovation organisation and the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
