During a specialized operation by the Sofia police, a drug storage facility was discovered, and over 1 kg of cocaine, over 2.5 kg of marijuana and about 1,000 amphetamine-derivative pills were seized, Lyubomir Nikolov, director of the Sofia Directorate of the Interior, announced at a briefing on Thursday.
The drugs were distributed by dealers through Telegram channels in order to thwart direct contact between the distributor and the user, Nikolov explained, adding that minors and underage children were involved.
15 days have passed since the beginning of a specialized operation, and the Sofia directorate has detained 331 people, for whom there is evidence that they are involved in drug distribution and consumption. Over 160 proceedings have been initiated, of which 30 are for drug distribution and all dealers have been detained after a report to the prosecutor's office, and most have been placed under permanent arrest.
