Casting his vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections, There Is Such a People (TISP) Deputy Chair Stanislav Balabanov said he voted in the name of protecting children and preserving the traditional Bulgarian family. He chose to vote using a paper ballot.
Balabanov said he had voted so that society would no longer allow political formations to patronize and create sects. "I voted for normality, predictability and practicality," he added.
He said he supports machine voting, but with a different type of machines - scanning devices, which were not approved. Once that happens, Bulgaria can move towards electronic and remote voting, he said. According to Balabanov, the current machines are controlled by Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria.
Commenting on opinion polls placing TISP below the 4% electoral threshold, Balabanov said that if the party remains part of Bulgaria's political life, it will work to amend legislation regulating polling agencies. He called on citizens to vote, stressing that this is the essence of democracy.
