Bulgaria was a partner country at the 11th Danube Salon, held on March 5 at the Representation of the German State of Baden-Wuerttemberg to the Federal Government in Berlin, said the Bulgarian Embassy in Germany on Friday.
The event focused on economic sustainability and reducing imbalances in the Danube region, bringing together representatives from institutions, business, academia, and the diplomatic corps.
In his welcome address, Bulgarian Ambassador to Germany Grigor Porozhanov emphasized that the Danube is not merely a geographical axis, but a connecting line between economies, cultures, and societies. He noted that Bulgaria views its partnership in the Danube Salon both as recognition and as a responsibility to actively contribute to dialogue and sustainable development in the region. He also highlighted that Bulgaria is chairing the EU Strategy for the Danube Region this year, working actively to strengthen connectivity, competitiveness, and cooperation among the countries along the Danube.
Bulgaria’s participation in the event was organized with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism. Bulgarian Danubian municipalities were presented, showcasing their tourism and cultural opportunities. The programme included an expert discussion with representatives of European and national institutions, a cultural programme and a reception featuring Bulgarian food.
The Danube Salon once again confirmed the importance of partnership between countries in the region and the role of such forums in promoting economic cooperation, tourism, and cultural exchange, the Bulgarian Embassy said.
