The world urgently needs peace against the backdrop of growing geopolitical tensions and multiple conflicts in different stages, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said in a statement to journalists. Zhelyazkov is participating in the 62nd Munich Security Conference.
According to him, one of the main messages of the meeting is achieving lasting and sustainable peace by strengthening defence capabilities in a European context and enhancing cooperation between the European Union and NATO, as well as the partnership with the United States. “Europe cannot do without America, just as America cannot do without Europe.” He also stressed the need for competitiveness in the context of global competition, including with China.
Zhelyazkov announced that within the framework of the forum, meetings were held with representatives of the Schwarz Group regarding possible investments in flexible data centres in Bulgaria, as well as with Rheinmetall concerning progress on a joint project for a plant in the country. According to the caretaker prime minister, the procedures related to the project are financially and organizationally secured and are being carried out on schedule.
The Prime Minister also said that Bulgaria is participating in initiatives to develop capabilities in the field of unmanned systems, involving Bulgarian companies and technologies, including AI solutions.
