Vazrazhdane will not take part in President Iliana Iotova’s consultations with parliamentary groups in the 51st National Assembly as part of the procedure to appoint a caretaker prime minister, the party's press centre said.

On Tuesday, Iotova will meet with representatives of the parliamentary groups of GERB-UDF and Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB).

Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov “categorically rejected the invitation for further consultations” with President Iotova, the party’s press centre added. The party emphasized that a caretaker government should already have been appointed and a date for elections announced.

“After the resignation of the government of GERB, MRF, CC-DB, BSP, and There Is Such a People on December 11, 2025, President Radev should have acted swiftly to demonstrate his commitment to fighting the Borissov-Peevski model. Instead, he appears to have given [GERB leader Boyko] Borissov and [Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning leader Delyan] Peevski nearly two more months in power, which raises suspicions of backroom deals,” the party said.

“Vazrazhdane will not take part in this process and will not support any postponement of the elections. We will not attend the consultations and urge the President to move forward with the appointment of a caretaker cabinet,“ the party added. Vazrazhdane noted that they do not consider any of the eligible candidates suitable for the role of caretaker prime minister, adding that only Bulgarian National Bank Deputy Governor Andrey Gurov is not affiliated with Borissov and Peevski.
