Outgoing Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov signed cooperation agreements between the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (MLSP) and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski”, and the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT). The partnerships are aimed at developing sustainable policies in the fields of the social and solidarity economy, corporate social responsibility, living standards, demographic policy and the labour market, as well as at strengthening the link between education and public policies, the MLSP press centre said here on Tuesday.

The agreement with Sofia University seeks to integrate topics related to social responsibility and sustainable management into education, research and public initiatives, and to develop institutional cooperation with the academic community in the areas of living standards and demographic policy. It was concluded in implementation of the Action Plan for the Framework Policy to Promote the Development of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability for the 2025–2026 period.

The partnership with the National Sports Academy focuses on promoting education in the field of the social and solidarity economy, including through the development of social entrepreneurship and interaction between educational institutions and the public sector. It will be implemented within the framework of the Action Plan on the Social Economy (2024–2025).

The MLSP will work with ULSIT on issues related to living standards, the labour market, and the management of European programmes and projects. The focus will be on education, scientific research and international cooperation.

The agreements also envisage the organisation of training courses, conferences, seminars and public lectures, the provision of student internships, the development and dissemination of analyses and studies, as well as participation in national and international initiatives and projects of mutual interest, the ministry added. The goal is also to help shape sustainable public policies and to train future specialists in areas of key importance to society and the economy, the MLSP said.
