Radostin Vasilev, leader of the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party, spoke to journalists in the corridors of Parliament on Thursday regarding the mandating of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) to nominate a prime minister-designate. Vasilev stated that the party sees this as a negative sign from the President.
According to Vasilev, the ARF has no electoral weight and will most likely not be represented in the next parliament. "We believe that the remnants of this party have caused irreparable damage to the Bulgarian state and are no different from Delyan Peevski's people", the MECh chair said. "Anything else would be more acceptable", he added.
Vasilev clarified that, from the perspective of identifying the least harmful entity to which to hand over the mandate, the President's action may be justified, adding however, that Dogan is harmful to the Bulgarian state and should be arrested.
