site.btaPM: Energy Support for Businesses Keeps Consumer Prices Down
Energy support for businesses helps keep prices for consumers down, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio. He noted that such support will continue as long as electricity prices on the liberalized market remain high and generate significant profits for the Bulgarian energy sector.
As long as Bulgarian energy companies report substantial revenue and profit growth from electricity trading on energy exchanges, these funds should be redirected to support businesses, the Prime Minister said. He added that as long as there are accumulated resources in the relevant fund, they will be redistributed, as this is an effective indirect tool to prevent electricity costs from being passed on into the final prices of goods and services.
