site.bta"The Wheels of Heaven" Film Tour Continues in Plovdiv, Varna, Stara Zagora

The charity tour of the film The Wheels of Heaven will continue in Plovdiv on September 12, in Varna on September 27, and in Stara Zagora on September 30, the film team said on Wednesday.

"This is a film that asks questions. A film that you will think about once it is over and definitely one of the most extraordinary films you have ever seen," said Dessy Tenekedjieva, the producer of the Bulgarian-British film. "After the film's run in cinemas across Bulgaria, our team's priority remains to keep sharing our story on the big screen, because nothing can replace the experience of a cinema presentation with its stunning visuals and sound."

The fantasy thriller starring Mickey Rourke, Gary Stretch and Dessy Tenekedjieva welcomes disadvantaged viewers in a series of charity screenings, with the support of Bulgarian municipalities.

"Of course, The Wheels of Heaven will also go on streaming platforms and will eventually be broadcast on Nova TV, but before that we want to show it on the big screen to the widest possible audience. That is why we are also doing a series of special screenings around the country, as well as this separate charity tour with a social focus, for which we thank all the municipalities that supported the idea," Tenekedjieva noted.

The film, directed by Ben Charles Edwards from a story by Mike Shilliam and Tenekedjieva, received four awards at its world premiere at the Capri Film Festival. It was followed by a theatrical release in Bulgaria and a premiere in London. The film also won awards at the Ischia Global Film and Music Fest.

The film will be part of the Festival of Bulgarian Cinema in Rome, and will then travel to the Indian Cine festival in Mumbai and to the Chelsea Film Festival in New York in October.
