BTA Director General Kiril Valchev Thursday offered internship opportunity at the BTA national press club in Ankara for Bulgarian studies students at Ankara University.

Valchev met with the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography of Ankara University Prof. Dr. Levent Kayapinar, and with the Head of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature at the Faculty Prof. Dr. Huseyin Mevsim. Valchev visited the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, located in the centre of the Turkish capital.

Valchev made a proposal to the Dean of the Faculty for cooperation between BTA and the Department of Bulgarian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, which envisages internships at the BTA National Press Club in Ankara for high achieving students studying Bulgarian studies, as well as providing the BTA once a week with information on the activities of the department.

The BTA Director General said that the contract could be extended to cooperation with the Department of Journalism at Ankara University's Faculty of Communication, which also provides for internships at the BTA press club in Ankara for students who know Bulgarian language.

Prof. Mevsim told BTA that about 80 students are studying Bulgarian language in one preparatory and four other courses, and about half of them are very active. He specified that 90-95% of the students were locals and not from expatriate families from Bulgaria.
