The Taraclia branch of Ruse University has opened admissions for bachelor’s degree programmes in pedagogy for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This year 40 government-subsidized places will be available for Moldovan citizens who are not of Bulgarian origin, including Moldovans, Ukrainians, Russians, Armenians, Jews, Poles, among others. This decision is in accordance with the directive of Dan Perciun, Moldova’s Minister of Education and Research.
Admissions opened on July 21 and are being conducted under the regulations approved by the Ministry of Education and Research. Applicants may submit their documents in two ways - online via the eAdmiterea platform ([https://eadmitere.gov.md](https://eadmitere.gov.md)) or in person at the university building in Taraclia.
The university offers four pedagogical degree programmes: preschool and primary school pedagogy; Bulgarian and English language; Bulgarian language and history, music education pedagogy.
Upon graduation, students receive a European diploma and are eligible for scholarships under Moldovan law. Graduates who are assigned to rural schools through government programmes may also apply for a one-time financial aid grant of MDL 200,000.
Admissions for candidates of Bulgarian and Gagauz origin have been open for over two months and are still ongoing. So far, over 140 applicants have submitted documents for bachelor’s programmes and more than 60 for master’s degrees.
The Gregory Tsamblak branch of Ruse University was officially inaugurated on May 24 - the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and Slav Letters.
The Taraclia District is located in southern Moldova and includes 26 localities, among them the towns of Taraclia and Tvardita. According to the 2014 census, the district has a population of about 40,000, with 66% identifying as ethnic Bulgarians.
