Bulgarian conductor Rossen Milanov will conduct the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra in the new season 2023/24. The 68th Kromatika cycle includes nine concerts, four of which will be conducted by Milanov, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Ljubljana said on its website on Wednesday.

Milanov will open the concert season in Ljubljana's Cankar Centre on September 14. The concert programme includes Camille Saint-Saens's Piano Concerto No. 5, Bonin's Cancro, Lucijan Marija Skerjanc's Concerto for violin and Max Strmcnik's Introars 23. The event will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the third Ars programme of the National Radio of Slovenia.

The RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra will also perform under Milanov's baton on October 3, as well as the following year on March 14 and May 16. Audiences will enjoy pieces by Gustav Mahler, Reinhold Gliere, Ludwig van Beethoven, Dmitri Shostakovich, among others.

Milanov has been the chief-conductor of RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra since 2019. His partnership with the orchestra began back in 2006, when Milanov was the director of the New Symphony Orchestra in Sofia.
