site.btaNew Holistic Therapies at SPA Centre of Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort in Balchik in 2026
In 2026, the SPA centre at Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort in Balchik will expand its services with new holistic therapies aimed at balancing body and mind. “Bulgaria is a hidden gem in SPA tourism, offering authenticity, quality and excellent conditions for recovery,” SPA manager Lilyana Mileva told BTA.
The centre offers detox and immune-boosting programmes, anti-stress rituals, pain relief and mobility therapies, as well as individually tailored procedures. It also builds on over seven years of experience in Ayurveda, a holistic approach that treats the body, mind and spirit while seeking the root cause of illness.
The SPA works with India’s Kairali brand and uses high-end French cosmetics by Thalgo. Among the newest offerings is a Tibetan Singing Bowls Ritual combining massage with sound therapy, designed to reduce stress and improve sleep. An anti-burnout programme has also been introduced in response to the demands of modern lifestyles. Recent investments include renovation of key facilities and the addition of a salt room.
Interest in wellness tourism is growing, with most visitors coming from Romania, Germany, the UK and Scandinavia, alongside a rising number of Bulgarian guests. Many choose to combine leisure with health-focused services.
The centre uses mineral water from its own source and healing mud from Pomorie Lake, applied in treatments for joint, neurological and skin conditions. Combined with the sea climate, these resources support overall recovery. Marine-based cosmetics further enhance hydration, regeneration and anti-aging care.
Mileva noted global trends toward holistic therapies, natural treatments and personalized SPA experiences, with increasing demand for sleep therapies and digital detox. International partnerships and awards have helped position the resort as a high-quality destination, while future plans include expanding programmes and further infrastructure upgrades.
She added that Bulgaria has strong potential as a SPA destination thanks to its natural resources, but requires more active promotion.
BTA presents news from certified SPA, wellness, and medical SPA centres in Bulgaria in its BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water feature. Their total number exceeds 200.
