Sofia, August 1 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 425,054 after 12,876 tests identified 182 new infections on Saturday, according to data posted Sunday on the national coronavirus information platform at https://coronavirus.bg/.
The test positivity rate now stands at 1.41 per cent. The
registered active COVID-19 cases stand at 8,296 with nine
recoveries reported on Saturday.
A total of 805 COVID-19 patients are in hospital, of whom 78 in intensive care.
A total of 3,193 vaccines were administered, bringing the total number of persons injected with at least one dose in Bulgaria to 2,028,136. A total of 999,878 people have been fully vaccinated.
Close to 24,000 vaccines have been administered across Sofia's public clinics and so-called green lanes, Sofa Municipality reported on Sunday.
The initiative for administering vaccines in mobile vaccination units was launched with the purpose of increasing the vaccination rate in Sofia and turned out to be a very successful model, said Sofia Deputy Mayor in charge of finance and healthcare Doncho Barbalov.
Over 11,853 vaccines have been administered in mobile vaccination units during weekends since the start of the summer, while more than 1,000 people have been inoculated over this weekend across shopping malls and municipal cultural institutes in the capital.
People wishing to get vaccinated against COVID-19 can schedule an appointment at municipal public health clinics, where 12,412 vaccines were administered between May 17 and July 30. More information is available at http://www.sofia.bg/en/covid-19
Sofia Municipality is implementing an initiative where companies can apply to get their staff vaccinated. Medical teams can visit the place of work and vaccinate the workers on site. Employers can fill out a form on https://call.sofia.bg/ and request such a visit.
