COVID-19 Update:
1,956 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 8.1%
Sofia, September 9 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 466,671, after 24,142 tests identified 1,956 new infections on Wednesday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 8.1 per cent.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 362 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 178 cases and Burgas Region with 158.
The active cases are 36,268. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 4,419, including 363 in intensive care.
The infected medical staff have reached 14,001 (including 3,987 doctors, 4,726 nurses and 2,364 orderlies).
Another 976 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 411,068.
Sixty-five fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 19,335.
With 12,464 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,380,022 vaccine doses have been administered so far, and 1,217,377 people are fully vaccinated. DT/LG
