Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov participated in the meeting of the countries of the “coalition of the willing”, the government press office said Thursday.

The initiative for the meeting came from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron. Prime Minister Zhelyazkov joined the forum online along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and other heads of state and government participating in the fourth Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.

The main purpose of the meeting of the countries of the coalition of the willing is to confirm their commitment to finding a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.

The discussion focused on ways to make sure Ukraine and the region stay stable after a potential peace deal, coordinating efforts to boost collective support for Ukraine, and preparing a common framework for financial help in 2026.

The forum aims to mobilize international support – financial, political and technical – from governments, international organizations, financial institutions and the private sector for the recovery, reconstruction, reform and modernization of Ukraine.
