Bulgaria supports Moldova’s European future and its efforts toward reforms and closer integration with the European Union, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said during a meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Tirana, the Council of Ministers said on its official Facebook page on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, Zhelyazkov arrived in Tirana for the Sixth European Political Community Summit, said the government information service.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Bulgaria will remain an active partner to Moldova on this path.
The Council of Ministers also noted that the two sides talked about the Bulgarian minority in Moldova, which was described as "a bridge between the two nations" and a key priority for Bulgarian foreign policy. “Bulgaria will continue to support the preservation of the cultural identity and educational opportunities of the Bulgarian community in Moldova,” the Council of Ministers post says.
