President Rumen Radev arrived in Warsaw for a two-day visit at the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, to take part in the 10th Three Seas Initiative Summit.
On Monday, the President is scheduled to visit the National Library of Poland, which holds part of the original Codex Suprasliensis (called also the Retkov Sbornik).
It is the only surviving Old Bulgarian manuscript from the Preslav Literary School, and is included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World.
In recognition of the institution’s significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of the Codex, as well as to mark the 200th anniversary of its discovery, the Head of State will award the library with the St. Cyril and St. Methodius plaque. The award will be accepted by the library’s director, Tomasz Makowski.
2023 was declared the Year of Codex Suprasliensis.
On Tuesday, Rumen Radev will take part in the 10th Three Seas Initiative Summit.
