Foreign Ministry Urges Bulgarians to Leave Lebanon Amid Regional Security Deterioration

Due to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria recommends that Bulgarian citizens avoid travel to Lebanon. Citizens currently in the country are urged to leave Lebanon in a timely manner using available safe options, the Ministry announced on its website on Saturday.

For assistance, Bulgarian citizens can contact the Embassy of Bulgaria in Beirut at +961 5 453 658, as well as the 24-hour emergency numbers: +961 81 302 552 and +961 76 697 766. Requests can also be sent via email to the consular service at Consular.Beirut@mfa.bg.

Emergency assistance requests are also accepted around the clock by the Ministry’s Situational Centre at +359 2 948 24 04 and +359 2 971 38 56, or by email at crisis@mfa.bg.

According to the Situational Centre, as of 09:30 am on Saturday, a total of 1,207 Bulgarian citizens have been assisted within the operation to evacuate Bulgarians from the Middle East and Iran. Of these, 953 were evacuated through the Foreign Ministry Crisis Headquarters, while 254 received assistance through tour operators.
