Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Angelieva met with Simon Bland, Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.
During the meeting at the Bulgarian Embassy in Washington, the two officials discussed the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States, as well as Bulgaria’s progress toward inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. The U.S. side gave a very high assessment of the joint efforts and excellent cooperation between the expert teams of both countries engaged in the Visa Waiver process.
Deputy Minister Angelieva emphasized the importance of the good and open dialogue with the American partners and reaffirmed Bulgaria’s continued commitment to becoming one of the countries benefiting from visa-free travel to the United States.
Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Angelieva is visiting Washington, DC to attend the Meeting of Special Envoys and Coordinators of Combating Antisemitism (SECCA), from November 4 to 6, jointly organized by the U.S. Department of State and the World Jewish Congress.
