Until noon, conditions for tourism in the mountains are favorable, with brief rain showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, the Bulgarian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) informed BTA on Tuesday morning.

Currently, there is broken cloud, with light winds in some areas and temperatures of 15C - 18C in Borovets and Aleko.

On Monday, there was a minor incident in the Stara Planina Mountains involving a tourist who sprained his ankle. He was assisted on site by the rescue team in Sopot.

Currently, there is still a wildfire in Pirin, above Strumyani, which is in the lower part of the mountain, the MRS added. There are no new fires in the mountains.
