President of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), Georgi Ivanov, has been elected Vice-Chair of UEFA's Football Committee. In addition to Ivanov, four others, all part of the BFU leadership, have received significant international recognition by being appointed as members of various UEFA committees.
Georgi Ivanov becomes the second-highest official in UEFA’s Football Committee, chaired by the President of the Georgian Football Federation, Levan Kobiashvili. The committee’s main focus is the development of the game at both national and club levels. Bulgaria has a strong tradition in this committee, with other figures from the country’s football elite having served in it in previous years.
BFU Executive Director Andrey Petrov is now a member of the committee responsible for the HatTrick programme, which prioritizes the strategic development of football through various infrastructure projects.
Deputy Executive Director Iveta Bankova, who has extensive experience as a UEFA international delegate, has joined the National Teams Competitions committee.
Another Deputy Executive Director, Dobrin Gyonov, has been appointed to the committee responsible for players' status, transfers, and regulation of relationships with football agents.
BFU Technical Director Kiril Kotev has become a member of UEFA’s Administrative Expert Panel.
