Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev and his Montenegrin counterpart Dragoslav Scekic have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the fields of youth and sports, the Bulgarian ministry’s press centre said on Tuesday.

In the field of sports, the memorandum outlines plans for the exchange of experience among coaches, experts, and researchers in areas such as high-performance sports, sports for all, sports science, sports medicine, and sports law. The two countries will also encourage collaboration between sports organizations to host joint seminars, conferences, and research initiatives and to share publications, materials, and data related to physical activity. The agreement also includes joint efforts to combat doping.

In the field of youth policy, the document supports programmes focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. It also envisions exchanges of young entrepreneurs, volunteers, youth delegations, and experts. The two countries will work together to share good practices, research, and legal аcts.

“The signing of this agreement marks an important step forward in our shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing youth and sports policies in both countries,” Minister Peshev said.

He also reaffirmed Bulgaria’s ongoing support for the integration and cooperation of the Western Balkans within European structures. Peshev added that the memorandum will not only promote the active engagement of young people in public life and support their future success but also contribute to the stability and development of the region.
