site.bta Communications Regulator Hosts Plenary Meetings of BEREC Board of Regulators and Office Management Board


Sofia hosted the 64th plenary meetings of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) Board of Regulators and BEREC Office Management Board and the 71st General Assembly of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG) on October 2-3, the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) said. This is the first time CRC has hosted such events.
CRC Chairman Ivan Dimitrov and Deputy Chair Kristina Hitrova participated in the meetings.
Alejandra de Iturriaga Gandini from the Spanish National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) was elected as BEREC Chair for 2027. The BEREC Board of Regulators elected the following Vice-Chairs: Klaus Steinmaurer (RTR, Austria), Michel van Bellinghen (BIPT, Belgium), Sarah Jacquier-Pelissier (Arcep, France) and Giacomo Lasorella, (AGCOM, Italy).
The forum discussed and approved the IRG budget for 2026, a BEREC draft programming document for 2026 and an opinion on the review of the Delegated Regulation on a single maximum Union-wide mobile voice termination rate and a single maximum Union-wide fixed voice termination rate.
The next BEREC plenary meeting will be held in Valletta on December 4-5, with the Malta Communications Authority acting as host.
