The national average wage in Bulgaria in the second quarter of 2025 was BGN 2,572, Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov told a news briefing after a meeting of the social partners on Tuesday. The average wage was BGN 3,489 in Sofia, which is 35.7% higher than the national average.
The wage increase was most significant in Blagoevgrad (20.3%), Targovishte (18.3%) and Smolyan (17.3%), the Minister said. He commented that these are "optimistic figures for the Bulgarian economy".
