site.btaBan on Export of Insulin, Certain Antibiotics Extended by One Month

The export ban on insulin, its analogues, and certain antibiotics has been extended until September 24, 2025 by an order of Health Minister Silvi Kirilov, published on the Ministry’s website on Monday.
The insulin and its analogues are listed in the order by their trade names. The export ban on antibiotics applies to products with the international nonproprietary names Azithromycin, Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, and Cefuroxime, in the pharmaceutical forms powder for oral suspension and granules for oral suspension.
Information has been provided by the Bulgarian Drug Agency (BDA) regarding the available quantities of these medicinal products among wholesale distributors and marketing authorization holders. Additionally, regional health inspectorates have conducted checks at retail pharmacies in both large and smaller towns to monitor stock levels.
Marketing authorization holders have been required to submit data on current stock levels, quantities delivered since the beginning of the year for the same product groups, and planned deliveries for the next six months.
