The Employment Agency announced a project providing paid internships and permanent jobs for 10,000 young people. From June 24, the Agency will launch a new project “Youth Internships”, aimed at young people aged 16 to 29, who are looking for opportunities to work in their free time.
The initiative is implemented with the financial support of the European Social Fund Plus through the Human Resources Development Programme 2021-2027 and aims to promote the labour integration of young people who are not engaged in work, education or training.
The project provides an opportunity to engage in practice in a real workplace. With the support of employers and mentors, participants acquire practical skills and create work habits. Young people who are temporarily not studying or not working (during vacations) can also participate and receive remuneration for their work. Inactive or unemployed people can also take part in the project if they have not been in employment or education or training for at least four weeks before applying.
The apprenticeship is on a full-time or part-time contract for up to 6 months. Participants are paid the national minimum wage and a daily transport allowance depending on the location. Work is carried out under the supervision of a mentor appointed by the employer.
Applications are submitted to the employment offices. After registration, selection and referral to a specific employer takes place.
The project also provides incentives for employers.
Applications shall be submitted electronically through the Secure electronic delivery system, accompanied by declarations and documents certifying eligibility.
