The second edition of the National Tourism Festival will take place at the Malyovitsa resort complex between July 11 to 13, the Bulgarian Tourist Union said.
The festival is part of the celebrations marking 130 years since the first organized ascent of Cherni Vrah, which is believed to mark the beginning of the tourism movement in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Tourist Union.
For three consecutive days, participants will be able to join organized hikes along iconic Rila routes, practical orienteering and mountain running classes, lectures, mountaineering film screenings, and the evenings will end by the campfire with acoustic music and performances by tourist choirs from all over the country.
The festival will also include an area with themed stands, where tourist companies from all over the country, master craftsmen, mountaineering equipment and activities suitable for all ages will be presented.
A special highlight will be the Annual Meeting of the Gold Badge Holders of the National Movement Discover Bulgaria - 100 National Tourist Sites" For them, participation in the festival is free. The festival ticket for all guests includes full access to the activities in the programme; breakfast, lunch and dinner; access to a separate camping area.
Last year, hundreds of tourists participated in the first edition of the festival. This year, the event will have an even richer programme, more inspiring and bringing together tourists from all over the country, its organizers said.
Children under 12 years old participate for free, and parents are encouraged to enroll them in advance in the all-day children's camp. Discounts are also provided for members of tourist associations, young people under 18 years of age and people over 75 years of age can benefit from a 100% discount on the ticket price; members of tourist associations get a 60% discount. Prices for all other tourists will be BGN 75 until June 15, BGN 95 after June 15, BGN 120 after July, and one-day tickets are priced from BGN 35 to 55.
