As part of the General Assembly of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC GA), held this week in Sofia, a meeting took place between Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and a delegation from CISAC, which included CISAC Director General Gadi Oron, Regional Director for Europe Mitko Chatalbashev, and Ivan Dimitrov, Executive Director of MusicAutor, MusicAutor said in a press release on Friday.
The discussion focused on key issues related to improving the environment for authors in Bulgaria –from reforms in public performance licensing to the need for adequate compensation for private copying and the protection of authorship in the context of artificial intelligence.
PM Zhelyazkov expressed a positive stance toward the proposals and emphasized the importance of international support for MusicAutor.
Earlier in the day, the CISAC delegation, expanded to include three of the four vice presidents of the international organization, representatives of FilmAutor, and MusicAutor leadership, also held talks with members of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media, including its chair Toshko Yordanov and Luben Dilov, the press release also said.
