The Tourism Ministry gave 100% effort during the Government's first 100 days in office, Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh said, as quoted in a press release of his Ministry on Friday. Borshosh presented some of the key achievements since taking office and expressed his gratitude to his colleagues, the tourism industry, the parliamentary Tourism Committee, mayors, and regional governors for their support.
The Minister mentioned the first National Tourism Council’s meeting of the year, where the Ministry received support for work on legislative changes and partnerships with local authorities.
The key achievements include the establishment of an interagency working group focused on the sustainable development of mountain tourism in Bulgaria, the creation of a coordination group to improve collaboration among institutions handling tourist and work visa processes, and a new partnership with Mastercard to strengthen the analysis of tourism flows.
Borshosh further highlighted the successful organization of the 16th Concours Mondial du Sauvignon international competition, held in Burgas, where Bulgaria earned 3 gold and 17 silver medals. He also pointed to a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at advancing the development of Bulgarian tourism.
“We took immediate action regarding the illegal placement of concrete along our Black Sea coast. To ensure prevention and control, we began efforts to establish a specialized inspectorate within the Ministry,” the Minister is quoted as saying.
