site.btaDirect Air Service to Be Launched between Sofia and Yerevan on April 29

Direct flights between Sofia and Yerevan will be launched as of April 29, Sofia airport said on Monday. 

Tickets are already on sale by operator Wizz Air. Until mid-June flights will be operated on Wednesday and Sunday and after June 12 on Tuesday and Saturday.

Yerevan is one of the destinations outbound from Sofia after Wizz Air stationed a seventh aircraft at the Sofia airport at the end of 2022. This paved the way for new destinations such as Stockholm, Hamburg and Riyadh and increasing flights on 11 exiting routes from and to Sofia. In addition Ryanair will launch flights to Wroclaw from March 27 and Norwegian Air Shuttle to Oslo from June 24, the airport said. 

Sofia Airport recalls that it is implementing a programme to increase the flight connectivity of the capital and new air operators have been attracted such as ITA, Pegasus, Sky Express and Norwegian Air Shuttle, and the negotiations with for over 80 new destinations with traditional and low-cost air companies are underway.
