Despite the unpredictable environment, hotels are prepared to welcome tourists, said Georgi Shterev, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, during a forum hosted by Bulgarian News Agency.

“Prices will not be adjusted, they will remain as announced, and everyone is welcome. If the state also steps in to help direct more Bulgarians here, that would truly be very good,” Shterev added during a BTA -hosted BG TOURISM – SUMMER 2026 forum, which began at Ensana Aquahouse, Aqua Vista Hall, in the resort complex of Sts. Constantine and Helena Resort.

“‘Affordable’ doesn’t mean only cheap,” Shterev noted. He stressed that, in the context of the international situation, Bulgaria is a safe destination, just a two-and-a-half-hour flight away, and offers quality service. “No matter what anyone says, Bulgaria offers high-quality hotel services,” the BHRA chairman said firmly.

“For this season, the most important thing is to sign the contracts for next year’s charter flights, somehow we’ll manage the rest,” Shterev concluded.

Earlier on Monday, Kiril Valchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), opened the discussion, which is being held in partnership with the European Spas Association (ESPA), the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism (BUBSPA), and the resort complex Sts. Constantine and Helena Resort.

This is the ninth edition of BTA’s initiative to host forums twice a year, at the start of the summer and winter tourist seasons, to discuss messages for presenting tourism in Bulgaria in the coming season with representatives of state and municipal institutions, the tourism industry, non-governmental organizations, academics and experts. ESPA President and BUBSPA Chair Siyka Katsarova also took part in the forum.
