In October, the Total Producer Price Index in industry rose by 3.2%, month-on-month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a press release on Friday. An increase of 11.5% was registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, an increase of 2.0% in the mining and quarrying industry, and an increase of 0.2% in the manufacturing industry.
Higher prices in the manufacturing industry were registered in the manufacture of basic metals - by 3.1%, in the manufacture of leather and related products - by 2.5%, and in the printing and reproduction of recorded media - by 1.4%. A decrease was seen in the manufacture of textiles - by 3.6%, in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products - by 1.5%, and in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products - by 1.1%.
The Total Producer Price Index went up by 13.5% in October 2025, compared to the same month of 2024. A rise was observed in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 39.5%, in the mining and quarrying industry - by 17.4%, as well as in the manufacturing industry - by 9.5%.
In the manufacturing, the prices rose in the manufacture of basic metals - by 22.4%, in the manufacture of food products - by 20.7%, and in the manufacture of beverages - by 13.8%. Price reduction was registered in the manufacture of tobacco products - by 19.0%, in the manufacture of furniture - by 12.8%, and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment N.E.C. - by 0.8%.
