The Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) has spoken out against the draft state budget for 2026 in a statement sent to the media on Wednesday.

"We firmly declare that the draft budget for 2026 does not reflect the actual economic environment, stifles entrepreneurial initiative, and jeopardizes the sustainability of thousands of companies and hundreds of thousands of jobs," the organization said in its statement.

BHRA insists on a stable, predictable, sustainable, and competitive economy and income fairness.

At first reading, the draft 2026 state budget, Bulgaria's first in euro, was approved by parliament on November 21.
