Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov will open a discussion on Bulgaria’s role as an active partner in the European strategy for a secure and sustainable Black Sea. The forum will take place at the International Congress Centre of the Port of Burgas, the government information service announced on Friday.

The event will focus the European Union’s strategic approach to ensuring security and sustainable development in the Black Sea region. Kristian Vigenin, head of the Bulgarian Socialists’ delegation in the European Parliament, will outline the role of the EP and the EU’s vision for a stable and interconnected Black Sea region.

According to the meeting’s agenda, MEP Tsvetelina Penkova, Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, will speak about energy corridors and strategic connectivity as key components of the EU’s Black Sea strategy.
