In the third quarter of 2025, Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.2% year-on-year and by 0.7% quarter-on-quarter, according to seasonally adjusted data released by the National Statistical Institute on Friday.
In the second quarter of 2025, GDP increased by 3.1% compared to the same period of the previous year and by 0.7% compared to the first quarter of 2025, also based on seasonally adjusted figures. In the third quarter of 2024, GDP went up by 2.2% year-on-year and by 0.5% quarter-on-quarter.
According to the NSI’s flash estimates for the third quarter of 2025, nominal GDP reached BGN 62.016 billion, while the gross value added amounted to BGN 54.608 billion.
In the structure of GDP by expenditure approach, final consumption accounted for the largest share of GDP - 76.7%, which in nominal terms amounted to BGN 47.558 billion. Gross capital formation amounted to BGN 13.770 billion and accounted for 22.2% of GDP. The external balance was positive.
