Between January and September 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 2.4% from the like period of 2024 and added up to BGN 22,503.8 million. The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkiye, the United States, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Algeria, China and the United Kingdom, which accounted for 49.0% of the exports to non-EU countries.

In September 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 0.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to BGN 2.417.1 million.

The most notable growth was recorded in the section ‘Miscellaneous manufactured articles’ (51.4%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Mineral fuel, lubricants and related materials’ (39.7%).

The imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries in the period January - September 2025 increased by 4.3% in comparison with the same period of 2024 and added up to BGN 32,000.6 million (at CIF prices). The largest amounts were reported for the goods imported from Turkiye, China, Serbia and Kazakhstan.

In September 2025 the imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries increased by 12.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to BGN 3,831.9 million.

In the imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries, the largest growth was recorded in the section ‘Food and live animals’ (26.2%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes’ (43.2%).

The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (exports FOB - imports CIF) with third countries in the period January - September 2025 was negative and added up to BGN 9,496.8 million BGN.

In September 2025, the foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (export FOB - import CIF) with third countries was also negative and amounted to BGN 1,414.8 million.

Between January and September 2025, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to BGN 61,998.1 million, which was 4.8% less than the same period of the previous year.

In September 2025, the total exports of goods added up to BGN 7, 072.5 million and increased by 0.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
