Aleksandrina Makendzhieva won first place in the original Macedonian song contest at the Pirin Folk 2025 Festival in Sandanski, organizers said on Monday. The song she performed featured lyrics by Hristina Dimova and an arrangement by composer Svetoslav Loboshki.

During the third festival night, 15 new compositions competed for the prestigious awards. The jury included Ventsislav Dimov, Dimitar Dinev, Vanya Moneva, Kostadin Buradzhiev, Gencho Genchev, and Pavlina Karadzhova.

The jury awarded second place to Evelina Aleksandrova, while the third place went to performer Maksim.

The press jury prize went to Vasilena Stoyanova, while the jury’s special award was presented to Liliya Stoyanova. Aleksandrina Makendzhieva also received the Sveti Vrach award, presented by Sandanski Mayor Atanas Stoyanov. The Radio Blagoevgrad award went to Evelina Aleksandrova, while the Fen Folk TV award was given to Neli Mihaylova.

Guests at the final evening included mayors of neighboring municipalities, as well as composers, lyricists, and music professionals.

The festival is organized by Sandanski Municipality, Fen Folk TV and Music Media Cluster. BTA is a media partner of the event.
