New Issue of LIK Magazine Dedicated to Organized Tourism in Bulgaria to Be Presented at Apollonia Festival

LIK magazine will present its latest issue Monday, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of organized tourism in Bulgaria,  as part of the events of the 41st edition of the Apollonia Arts Festival in Sozopol. The launch will be held jointly via video link with BTA’s national press clubs in Bulgaria and abroad. The event, dedicated to the August issue of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) publication on literature, art, and culture, will be part of the "Price of Success" section of the forum.

Later in the day, at the Art Gallery in Sozopol, writer Vladimir Levchev will talk about his book Geography of Sleep, and the  the Plovdiv Drama Theatre will perform Elizabeth: The Virgin Queen.

The Art Gallery will also host a presentation of Maria Konakchieva's book In Love with Life.

The Summer Cinema will screen the film Flesh by director Dimitar Stoyanovich, and at the same time, Georgi Gospodinov will speak at the Art Gallery about "The Tide of the Past" through his last four books.

The evening will end with a concert by Mihaela Fileva at the Apollonia Amphitheatre.

LIK has dedicated its August issue to the 130th anniversary of organzed tourism in Bulgaria. It highlights one of the emblematic initiatives of the Bulgarian Tourist Union, the “Get to Know Bulgaria – 100 National Tourist Sites” movement. The initiative spans a wide range of natural, historical, cultural, and archaeological landmarks, their number being 242 as of 2024, with each presented in LIK’s August edition. 

Highlights from BTA’s archive of publications on Bulgarian tourism are also featured in this LIK. The oldest news piece included is nearly 120 years old. 

LIK also reported on the latest International Competition for a Bulgarian Tourism Poster, organized by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the International Triennial of Stage Poster – Sofia. Jury Chair Prof. Bozhidar Yonov and Albena Spasova shared insights about the initiative and its participants, discussing plans for the submitted posters, including traveling exhibitions. One of the award-winning posters, created by Lyuba Khaleva, was featured on the August cover of LIK.
