The General Assembly of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ) elected Snezhana Todorova as Chairperson of the UBJ Board with 53 votes in favour, the Union said Sunday. The other two candidates for the chairmanship were Valeri Todorov (8 votes) and Blagoy Tsitselkov (25 votes), they said.
Snezhana Todorova is a graduate of Leningrad State University. She is a philologist by education. She was appointed assistant to the UBJ International Department by competition on October 15, 1979. She later became deputy head of the same department, after which she was appointed head of the department. She also served as Secretary for Social and Trade Union Affairs. In 2010, she was elected Secretary General of the UBJ during Milen Valkov's term in office, and after his death in 2011 until 2015. Since 2015, she has been the UBJ President and Chairperson of the Board.
